What is FOSS?
Free and open source software (FOSS) is software that is released under licences that ensure that end users always have the freedom to run the program, for any purpose, the freedom to study how the program works, and adapt it to their needs, the freedom to redistribute copies of the program to others, and the freedom to improve the program and release those improvements to the wider community non-profit, open source initiative, FOSS is a model of software development, one the non-profit sector is now beginning to embrace!

Technozion has consistently drawn the world's foremost experts in their respective fields for making guest lecturers either in person or via video conferences! This year, we welcome our humble guest of honor Mr.Pradeeptho Bhattacharya. He has been a Qt/KDE hacker and currently serves as one of the board members of the KDE e.V.(a registered nonprofit organization that represents the KDE community in legal and financial entities!). Conf.kde.in was the first KDE and Qt conference in India which was organized by him. He has conducted various FOSS meets/events at the National institute of technology, Durgapur, the Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research and the likes and has been an active participant of the annually held, one of the world's largest Free and Open Source Software Events- FOSS.IN.

Tech talk on Technology Landscape, networking security and cloud computing in FOSS by Mr.Sashank Dara.

AndroidBotix

Ever imagined your mobile could control Robots? Well, you would be able to after attending the Android-Botix workshop brought to you by Technozionin association with ARK Technosolutions this September.

Android-Botix is aimed at controlling robots using Android Running OS. The connection is made using a Bluetooth Module using an SPP connection and the Bluetooth module then connects to the robot controller (Arduino Board). This makes it possible to send ASCII characters from the phone to the Arduino board which then reacts by turning on the motors in the proper way , depending on the characters and it's done.

The Workshop is divided into two phases.
The first phase covers Basics of Creating Android Applications.
Second phase covers Robot Controls.

 Everyone who has the urge to learn and gain knowledge in the field of robotics can attend the workshop.
